Post Forum upgraded to v3.0.5
*blows a huge cloud of dust off of forum*

Okay, so the board has been inactive for ages, which is probably thanks to myself for the most part -- I've barely been visiting it at all for the last 1-1,5 years, let alone post messages or upgrade/remove spambots etc. I'm sorry! The huge pile of complementary CoPL (remember them?) is over there on the table.

The good news is, I finally got off my lazy a** and actually did the upgrading. All the way from 2.0.x to the newest 3.0.5 -- which was such a big change it basically meant uninstalling the whole thing, installing the new version as if it was a clean new install and then restoring all our members, posts, settings etc. But it seems to have worked!

On the upside, we now have all sorts of nifty new features, like better spambot protection, the option to add attachments to your posts and images, etc. On the downside, the function to upload new avatars seems to have broken, and I haven't yet figured out why. But hey, that appears to be the only thing not working, after only 1,5 hrs of upgrading... I was kind of expecting this to require days of work and then not even work properly.

I'll look into the avatar thing some more tomorrow. For now, enjoy the fact that the forum is actually upgraded, that roughly 1400 spambots have been removed, and that we have shiny new options to play with. :)

Oh! And also:

-New theme! All black and greenlike, to match a new website I'll be putting online in about two weeks.

-Forum now reachable through http://closet.laura-design.nl in addition to the old http://www.laura-design.nl/closet .

-The Search function, which always used to be disabled because it kept breaking the boards, is now available once more.

I cannot seem to get the avatar uploads working. I've browsed several phpbb support threads and changed various settings and permissions back and forth, but it still gives the same error whenever you try to upload an icon (whether from your own computer or via URL).

For now, you can either upload your avatar elsewhere and use the "link to offsite avatar" field, or choose one of the gallery avatars. If you do have your own avatar that you want to use but nowhere to upload it, you can email it to me and I'll put it in the gallery for you.
