Nfu Oh #49 – review and swatches

Nfu Oh #49 was the first shade that I decided to swatch. It's quite an interesting colour; a very sheer pink base -- so sheer, it's practically transparent if you only do a single coat, and the pink doesn't really show up if you do it over other colours either. Makes it great for just layering on the flakies!

The flakies in this shade are a duochrome that changes from a coral pink/red to a greenish gold, depending on the lighting conditions and the angle at which the light hits it. Quite a nice effect!

The formula on this was really easy to work with. Because it's such a sheer, thin polish it went on very smoothly. Well, enough talk -- on to the pictures! You can click all of these to enlarge them, so you can really see the flakies properly :)

On its own: three coats of Nfu Oh #49 over Trind Nail Repair as a base coat. (Top: in the shade, bottom: in the sun.)

Two coats of Nfu Oh #49 over one coat of China Glaze Cherry Crystal. (Top: shade, bottom: sun.)

Two coats of Nfu Oh #49 over two coats of China Glaze Midnight Ride. (Top: shade, bottom: sun.)
In the full version of the sunny pic you can just about tell that Midnight is actually a very very dark purple instead of a true black :)

I bought my Nfu Oh polishes from NailXL, China Glaze from Transdesign (though I stopped buying from them when they increased their international shipping by like 300%) and Trind polish from their own store.
